The Distech EC-BOS supervisory controller runs on an open source protocol that enables it to communicate with existing Building Management Systems (BMS). The EC-BOS is based on the Tridium NiagaraAX framework and allows disparate networks (BACnet, LON, Johnson N2, CCN, Modbus, etc.) to communicate through a central device thereby linking them and allowing efficiencies and control that were not previously available. The Niagara AX framework allows one interface to access energy management suites, access control, video surveillance, as well as traditional BMS HVAC control.
